NaturopathyNaturopathy is an evidence based practice aimed to restore and support the body’s ability to heal itself. It is based on traditional healing practices combined with scientific evidence. The focus is to determine the root cause of a health problem or imbalance and restore the body to its optimal health naturally and holistically.
In a naturopathic consultation, we explore the current health concern in a holistic way. We take into account the physical, mental, emotional and environmental aspects. The consultation involves a thorough assessment of your health status, including your medical and family history and your current diet and lifestyle. |
Western herbal medicine is a clinical practice using naturally occurring plants, roots, bark, berries and flowers. It comes in the forms of tinctures, extracts, dried and pulverised in a capsule, tea and in topical creams and ointments. Herbal medicine operates on the foundations of biology and physiology, to assist and strengthen the human body’s natural processes.
The philosophy of western herbal medicine is to support the body and its systems to create homeostasis (balance) in the body so that it can heal itself. It works on the fundamental principles of raising vitality and promoting health and wellbeing. The knowledge and therapeutic benefits of western herbal medicine can be understood through its long history of traditional use, as well as through scientific research and clinical trials. |
IridologyEyes are known as “the windows to our soul” and are telling of the imbalances occurring in the human body. Iridology is a tool we use to help us understand more about a persons’ general health and imbalances. Each part of the iris is linked to a different organ and system of the body. Observing the irises under a microscopic lens, can detect weaknesses, strengths, under and over activity, toxic build up, acidity and circulatory status. We cannot diagnose illnesses through this method, however the observations made help to clarify the focus area of treatment.
